As demand for her services grew, Anna realized she had more on her plate than she could handle. It soon became evident she needed to formalize the services she provides, become licensed and insured, and bring additional caregivers into the mix.
She formed Honeybee Home Healthcare. The company’s name came from Anna’s Mom’s middle name, “Bee.” Bee is also a caregiver who works with Anna, and one of her 95-year-old clients affectionately calls her Honey Bee. “I liked the image the name evoked -- bees working efficiently around the hive,” Anna says. “That’s us!”
Anna’s time spent with elderly patients is only part of the experience she brings to Honeybee Home Healthcare. She has worked in multiple hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and assisted living facilities throughout Ohio.
As more Baby Boomers age, the need for high quality, in-home healthcare is growing rapidly. Anna Mandac recognized that need and launched Honeybee Home Healthcare to facilitate care for seniors in the Cleveland, Ohio area who wish to age in place and disabled individuals who value their independence. But Anna is quick to say it wasn’t a business decision that led her to this venture.
Anna has a formal education in healthcare as well. She’s a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Licensed Medication Aide (MA-C), Certified Nursing Assistant (STNA), Emergency Medical Technician and Phlebotomy Technician with a degree from the Hondros School of Nursing and additional training from Cuyahoga Community College. Additionally, Anna has a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from The Juilliard School where she was a Distinguished Scholarship recipient. She’s even been known to play the violin for some of her patients!
